Day 01: Welcome to the Doon City: Dehradun

Our driver picks you up from the airport or railway station and transfers you to your hotel. Once at your lodging, take rest and have a hearty breakfast. After this, we will start with an exciting tour of Dehradun. We first visit the famous ‘Tapkeshwar Mandir’ which is about 6 km from the city. Lying on the bank of River Asan, this ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. You can also explore the ‘Drona Cave’ here where the main Shiva Linga of the temple is situated. This Shiva Linga is washed by the water drops that trickle down from the ceiling of the cave. Hence it is called ‘tapak’ (to drop). Explore the natural cool spring waters nearby or take a dip if you wish as they are rich in sulphur and have healing properties. From here, we head to another popular attraction, the ‘Robber’s Cave’ which is also called Gachhupani (6.9 km). Here you can observe a natural phenomenon of a river flowing inside the very cave. You can witness this waterfall of about 10 m. Again, you can also witness a strange phenomenon where the stream of water suddenly disappears only to appear again a few metres away. It is also deemed as a popular picnic spot. We will grab a quick lunch. Post lunch, we will visit the ‘Forest Research Institute.’ It has a wonderful Himalayan backdrop and impressive structure. Head back to hotel by late evening.

Day 02: A Day Trip to Mussoorie

A trip to Dehradun is just incomplete without having visited the popular hill resort of ‘Mussoorie.’ Located at about 33 km from Dehradun, post breakfast we start for Mussoorie enjoying the beautiful ride. Once in Mussoorie, we check out the famous ‘Lal Tibba Viewpoint’ which is just 36 mins away. It is considered as the highest point in Mussoorie (2,275 m). Here you can get a stunning view of the hills and valleys. The drive to Lal Tibba is very picturesque, fringed with conifers, rhododendrons and pines. You can also check out the local market called ‘sister bazaar’ here. Next, we leave for ‘Gun Hill’ (2.1 km) which is the second highest peak in Mussoorie, offering a mesmerising view of the Himalayas and Doon. Grab a quick lunch along the Mall Road. Post lunch, we visit the famous ‘Company Bagh.’ Also called the ‘Municipal Garden,’ this is a prime picnic spot. Stroll along the lush green lawns with a trickling fountain as you admire Dahlias, Pansies and Petunias on the way. By late afternoon, we leave for Dehradun. Get some sleep and rest.

Day 03: Last Day in Dehradun

Today, we visit the last destination of the trip after breakfast. This is the famous ‘Mindrolling Monastery.’ It is a popular Buddhist centre, situated amidst the Himalayan foothills. It has an enticing Japanese architectural style. The major attraction here is the Great Stupa. After spending some 2-3 hours here, we drop you to your exit point wishing a safe and happy journey.
